Low-Fat Green Mango & Saffron Smoothie

Post image for Low-Fat Green Mango & Saffron Smoothie

This is a Malaysian style Green Mango & Saffron Smoothie and the Recipe was inspired by a  book called, Malaysian Cooking by Carol Selva Rajah. This smoothie is a refreshing, low fat and healthy drink for the upcoming Summer months. I love using Green Mangoes in recipes. Green Mangoes have a tangy, sweet & sour taste which I totally crave all of the time. Saffron threads give this drink its bright yellowish hue and a unique luxurious flavor. As soon as I read the recipe for this smoothie, I knew I would enjoy  making it for my family. I’m always looking for recipe for smoothies with fresh fruits which are low in fat but full of flavor. Would you believe I used low-fat 2% milk in this recipe and the smoothie tasted as creamy and delicious! I think this smoothie will be perfect with any meal especially a spicy Malaysian or Indian meal and also perfect for a cookout. I am always looking for unique drinks to serve to my guests especially for an outdoor Bar-B-Ques!

I’m ALL about the smoothies and the saffron. Green mangoes I don’t have as much experience with, but this I gotta try. Can’t wait!
